Correlation between serum vitamin D3 level and incidence of uterine leiomyoma in Egyptian women: An observational case-control study

Background: Uterine fibroid is thought to be linked to Vitamin D insufficiency. Objective: To explore the relationship between serum Vitamin D3 levels and uterine fibroids in Egyptian women seeking gynecological services. Methods: This study was a case-control study conducted at Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital, Gynecology Department during the period from April 2021 to October 2021 on 80 women. Study populations were categorized into 2 groups; the fibroid group included 40 cases having uterine leiomyoma, as well as the control group of 40 cases who were leiomyoma-free women based on transvaginal ultrasound.
