Based on recent development of fetal echocardiography and better interpretation of haemodynamic changes in fetal circulation it is possible to forsee the clinical neonatal condition after delivery and time of cardiac and cardiosurgery treatment. In this review current indications for elective cesarean section are presented both in cardiac abnormalities as well as in extracardiac conditions.
