Indications for and techniques of laparoscopic hysterectomy in contemporary operative gynecology

Although progress in laparoscopy resulted recently in introduction of the new laparoscopic hysterectomy techniques, the role of laparoscopy in that field is still relatively limited. The expectations were though much higher but vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy are still dominant procedures. Despite Laparoscopically Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy (LAVH) seems to be of the greatest importance among all laparoscopic techniques, in the near future Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH) will systematically take its place. Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy (LSH) is performed only occasionally. The authors of this paper described the indications and techniques of laparoscopic hysterectomy
