Abstract

Author(s): Zbigniew Słomko, Ryszard Poreba, Krzysztof Drews, Tomasz Niemiec

An alarming rise of both primary and repeated cesarean section rate in the past 20 years dictates a wide debate aiming at reduction of this adverse trend. A simple index of the chosen aspects of indications for cesarean section is worked out by the authors. These include dominating and controversial indications, section-on-demand, operative techniques, anesthesia, complications and their prevention, cesarean section in high risk pregnant women and high risk deliveries. A detailed and complete review of the authors’ elaboration is given in their monograph “Cesarean section”.
