Acupuncture in treating pregnant women suffering from attacks of migraine

Introduction. Attacks of migraine affects about ten percent of population, mainly women. Pregnancy decrease the rate of migraine attacks. Still there are cases when the rate of migraine attacks during the pregnancy still occurs with the same level or they are even more frequently. The acupucture seems to be the best solution for this group of women simultaneous with fear of caring to term the pregnancy and pharmacological treatment. Aim of the work. The assessment of the efficacy of acupuncture sessions in migraine attacks in pregnant women. Materials and methods. This article contain the evaluation of the results of treating with acupuncture group of twenty eight pregnant women suffering from migraine. Results. 13 patients (46.4% of the examined group) had nausea and vomiting during migraine attacks. 6 patients (21.4% of the examined group) had the symptoms of photophobia. Conclusions. The performed analysis confirmed high efficacy in migraine attack treatment using acupuncture. Simultaneously, the present study confirmed high efficacy of acupuncture sessions in the treatment of migraine attacks concomitant symptoms
